About the Author & Editorial Standards

Decadentry is written and edited by Hossein Boustani Hezarani — a dentist and AI-in-healthcare researcher — to translate peer-reviewed dental research into clear, honest, jargon-free reading.

About the author

Hossein Boustani Hezarani is a dentist trained at Azerbaijan Medical University, with a research focus on the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare and dentistry. He founded Decadentry to do one thing well: take the newest peer-reviewed science on AI in dentistry and explain what it actually means — celebrating what the technology can do while asking the hard questions the hype tends to skip.

His perspective is deliberately balanced. Every Decadentry article gives a new technology its due, then interrogates it on the things that matter in a clinic: accuracy on the cases that count, external validation, accountability when the tool is wrong, and whether it widens or narrows access to care.

Editorial standards

Decadentry follows a simple, strict process so readers — patients and clinicians alike — can trust what they read:

  • Peer-reviewed sources first. Every article is built on a specific, named, peer-reviewed study. Preprints, when referenced, are clearly labelled as not yet peer-reviewed.
  • Every figure is checked against the primary source. Statistics are verified against the original paper’s full text before publication. If a claim cannot be verified, it is not published.
  • Full credit to the researchers. Each article ends with the source study’s authors, its DOI, the authors’ ORCID iDs where available, and the licence under which the work was published.
  • Interpretation, not reproduction. Articles explain and contextualise research in original words; they do not reproduce copyrighted text.
  • Independence. Decadentry is an independent educational publication. It is not affiliated with the authors of the studies it covers, nor with any commercial AI platform named in its articles.
  • AI-assisted, human-standard. Decadentry uses AI tools to help research and draft, but every article is held to the same standard of factual accuracy and primary-source verification described above.
