Decadentry exists to translate peer-reviewed research on artificial intelligence in dentistry into clear, honest, jargon-free reading. These are the standards every article is held to.
Who is behind Decadentry
Decadentry is led by Hossein Boustani Hezarani, DDS — a dentist trained at Azerbaijan Medical University with a research focus on artificial intelligence in healthcare and dentistry. He founded Decadentry to do one thing well: take the newest peer-reviewed science on AI in dentistry and explain what it actually means — giving new technology its due while asking the hard questions the hype tends to skip.
That perspective is deliberately balanced. Every article interrogates a new tool on the things that matter in a clinic: accuracy on the cases that count, external validation, accountability when the tool is wrong, and whether it widens or narrows access to care.
How we choose studies
- Peer-reviewed first. Every article is built on a specific, named, peer-reviewed study — usually published within the last 18 months. Preprints, when referenced, are clearly labelled as not yet peer-reviewed.
- Relevant to dentistry. We cover AI in dental diagnostics, imaging, treatment planning, devices, education and patient care — not general healthcare AI.
- No repeats, no cherry-picking. We log every study we cover by its DOI, and we report negative or underwhelming results as readily as impressive ones.
How we check the facts
- Every figure is checked against the primary source. Statistics are verified against the paper’s methods and results — using the full text wherever it is available. If a headline claim cannot be verified, it is not published.
- Interpretation, not reproduction. Articles explain and contextualise research in original words and original figures. We do not reproduce copyrighted text or images.
- Limits stated plainly. Sample size, single-centre data, missing external validation and other caveats are named in every article, not buried.
Credit to researchers
Each article ends with the source study’s authors, its DOI, the authors’ ORCID iDs where available, and the licence under which the work was published.
AI-assisted, human-standard
Decadentry uses AI tools to help find, read and draft. Every article is held to the same standard of factual accuracy and primary-source verification described on this page, and the editor is accountable for everything we publish.
Independence & conflicts of interest
Decadentry is an independent educational publication. It is not affiliated with the authors of the studies it covers, nor with any commercial AI platform named in its articles. Separately, our oral-care picks page contains affiliate links, which are always labelled; see our affiliate disclosure.
Not medical advice
Our articles explain published research. They are not a diagnosis or treatment recommendation for any individual. Read our medical disclaimer.
Corrections
Accuracy matters more than speed. If you spot an error — or you are an author of a study we covered and want to add context — please contact us. We review every report promptly, correct the article, and note significant corrections at the end of the piece.
