About Decadentry

Dentistry is changing fast. We explain it honestly.

Decadentry is an independent publication about artificial intelligence in dentistry. We turn new peer-reviewed research into clear, balanced explainers — so the people who care for teeth, and the people who own them, can tell real progress from noise.

Our vision

Augmenting clinicians, not replacing them.

Artificial intelligence, automation and digital diagnostics are no longer futuristic buzzwords. They are already reshaping how dentists find disease, plan treatment and talk to patients. But progress doesn’t come from technology alone — it comes from evidence guiding innovation, from clinicians staying in control, and from patients who can ask good questions.

That is the gap Decadentry exists to close. Research papers are written for other researchers; marketing is written to sell. Between the two, there is very little that explains — calmly and accurately — what a new AI tool was tested on, how well it really performed, and what still needs to be proven.

We imagine a profession where AI supports every diagnostic decision without overriding human judgement, where knowledge is open rather than locked behind paywalls, and where empathy, ethics and evidence matter as much as the algorithm.

What we stand for

Four principles behind every article.

Augment, don’t replaceTechnology should serve the practitioner and amplify clinical judgement — never quietly override it.
Evidence before excitementEvery article starts from a named, peer-reviewed study, and every number is checked against the paper.
Clear for everyoneComplex ideas made simple, visual and actionable — useful in the clinic and readable at the kitchen table.
IndependentWe are not affiliated with the researchers or the AI companies we write about.
