Decadentry explains published research on artificial intelligence in dentistry for educational purposes. Please read this page before relying on anything you find here.
In short: nothing on Decadentry is medical or dental advice. Always consult a qualified dentist or physician about your own health, and never delay or ignore professional advice because of something you read here.
Educational information only
Articles on decadentry.com summarise and comment on peer-reviewed studies. They describe what researchers tested and found under specific conditions — often in a single centre, on a specific population or on images rather than real patients. Those results may not apply to you, to your clinic or to the version of a product that is commercially available.
No dentist–patient relationship
Reading Decadentry, commenting, subscribing or contacting us does not create a dentist–patient or doctor–patient relationship. We cannot assess, diagnose or treat individual conditions online, and we do not answer personal clinical questions by email.
AI tools are not a substitute for an examination
Many of the technologies we cover are research prototypes. Others are commercial products whose regulatory status differs between countries. Do not use an app, chatbot or AI tool described on this site to make decisions about your own treatment without a clinician’s involvement.
For clinicians
Our explainers are a starting point, not a substitute for reading the original paper, applicable clinical guidelines and your own professional judgement. Every article links to its source study by DOI so you can review the evidence directly.
Emergencies
If you have severe pain, swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or a facial injury, contact a dentist, an urgent-care service or your local emergency number immediately.
Accuracy and updates
We work hard to report research accurately (see our editorial standards), but science changes and errors are possible. Information is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. If you believe something is wrong, please tell us.
